When I was just a little child,
my grandpa’d say to me,
“My goodness, how you’ve grown, now you’re
as tall as you can be!”
Wherever Grandpa went, you’d always see me by
his side,
And when he saddled up his horse, he’d take me
for a ride
I followed Grandpa everywhere, his steps I tried
to fill,
For Grandpa was a godly man; though aged, he’s
that way still.
He told me Jesus loved me and He had a plan for me
To serve Him here, then be with Him for all
eternity.
I’ve followed Jesus many years; he’s filled my
heart with joy
Since Grandpa prayed that I’d be saved when I
was just a boy.
Now that I’m grown and I look back at all
God’s done for me,
I’m thankful for my grandpa who was always there
for me.
